I am Jarrett (Jay) Early and I am a graduate in UMBC's College of Engineering and Information Technology. I majored in Information Systems and minored in Computer Science. My research is AI Applied to the PDD Spectrum and mainstream Normalization through Application of a Neural Netwrok. I currently hold an AA in Computer Science from Montgomery College. I transferred from UMD College Park where I studied Computer Science. I have been recruited for a major government Defense Contractor and will begin shortly after graduation where I will work as a software developer. I interned for Discovery Communications and a Software Intern then was hired as a Jr Developer which I worked as for 2 years. This is my fourth semester at UMBC but was met with an interesting history leading to this point.
Prior to coming to UMD or UMBC, I studied Biological Sciences at a different school. This had been something I had planned on doing since I was 13 year old based on the wishes of my parents. After entering my fourth year of Biological Sciences, I began to become somewhat more hypersensitive to the personalities of my peers and how our interests contrasted. I began taking some computer science courses to see how I would perform and if I would fancy the curriculum in any form. I did this mainly because I had taught myself some coding early on and I enjoyed it as an indie practice but was unsure of it as a profession. After taking some courses, I knew that my passion laid outside the realm of natural sciences.
I enjoy being able to meet new people of various backgrounds and trying new foods. Being an adventure seeker, I make an effort to try to explore areas which I haven't yet explored and definitely like roadtrips with friends. Another great passion of mine is programming. The first language I ever learned was C++, then I began teaching myself Objective C during the iOS 5 platform back in 2011. After that, I began learning Java at Montgomery College then later at College Park. I also have experience with Python for AI and pathfinding. Other programming includes some Lua and Blueprints. (used in Unreal Gaming Engine) Also, Pl/SQl and Cassandra CQL are recent languages I have learned. I have been looking forward to IS 448 for quite some time and I look forward to learning more about HTML and JS and then how to embed that into the HTML code as one would CSS. I am especially looking forward to learning PHP and AJAX. Then, I can apply those skills to the field and use them on more server side approaches.
